In 2012, Student Transportation Inc. established a fundraising partnership with Denny & Mark’s Pro-Am Jam, a celebrity music and golf event led by the partnership of STI’s CEO Denis Gallagher, NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin, and Hootie & the Blowfish songwriter and musician, Mark Bryan. Given the integral role and involvement of Mr. Gallagher in this event and the partnership, which has raised more than $700,000 in its first four years, the event has now become the Denis, Denny & Mark’s Pro-Am Jam.
The two-day event is composed of an auction and celebrity jam concert on the first day, followed by a day of golf the following morning with the Celebrity Pro-Am. All proceeds from the event go towards the charitable organizations of the founders, which share a common mission in creating better opportunities for children.
The STI Cares Foundation provides resources to those suffering hardship and to support charitable fundraising efforts and educational needs throughout STI’s operating locations
The Denny Hamlin Foundation is committed to raising awareness and funds for the specific needs of children with Cystic Fibrosis
Mark Bryan’s Carolina Studios provides underprivileged children with a safe environment that fosters creative, educational and career-focused initiatives through music technology and media arts
The 5th annual Denis, Denny & Mark’s Pro-Am Jam will take place on October 24 – 25, 2016 at the Ralston Creek Course and Beresford Creek Course at The Daniel Island Club on Daniel Island, in historic Charleston, South Carolina. Follow the Pro Am Jam on Facebook to hear about this year’s celebrity line-up and to get other updates as the event draws closer.
Student Transportation Inc. plays a unique and positive role in the lives of the more than one million students it safely transports. STI’s services are delivered by drivers, dispatchers, maintenance technicians, terminal managers and other caring members of their local communities who are committed to improving the quality of life and making a difference for the children and families in their hometowns.
It is with this compassion and caring in mind that the STI Cares Foundation was designed to be able to contribute to the numerous charities, causes and local organizations that the 14,000 members of the STI Family are passionate about, donating their time, volunteering their efforts, and raising money throughout the year. STI’s employees raise money for Relay for Life and other cancer walks, and donate blood to the Red Cross. They collect coats and mittens for underprivileged children in the winter and host events to gather school supplies throughout the year. They donate school buses and drivers volunteer their time to transport groups like local senior citizens, homeless veterans, teams for the Special Olympics, and even spectators on Groundhog Day hoping to catch a glimpse of Punxsutawney Phil and his famous shadow.
The ways that the STI Family gives back in outreach and support efforts is endless, and STI Cares is an opportunity for STI to help its employees have an even greater impact on the communities they serve.
